Yuxuan's research is focused on developing methods to modulate and interpret high-dimensional neural populational activity, combining system development, animal experiment and computational models to advance the next-generation bi-directional BCI. Some major projects include:
(1) Quantitative optimization of spatiotemporally patterned intracortical microstimulation (ICMS) utilizing non-linear summation mechanism under the view of information theory
(2) Pipeline development and predictive modelling for a real-time closed-loop system for ICMS
